- Executive panel discussions on topics including international themes, digital trends and investor participation
- Presenting companies include those supporting the PreK-12, postsecondary and corporate training sectors
NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - BMO Capital Markets,
the investment and corporate banking arm of BMO Financial Group (NYSE, TSX: BMO), is holding its 17th annual Back to
School Investor Conference today in New York.
The conference is the longest-running institutional investor conference dedicated to the education and information sector, and
is also one of the largest. This year, the conference is also featuring a virtual reality campus tour hosted by Laureate
Education, where participants can tour through the student experience, from orientation to graduation, at Laureate's Lima, Madrid and Sao Paulo campuses.
"The globalization of the education and information sector is a major part of the evolution of the industry evident at our
conference this year, from the companies presenting to our first virtual reality experience," said BMO Capital Markets analyst
Jeff Silber. "As companies become more global and education becomes more global, investors are
looking for insights and analyses to understand this changing landscape better."
The conference is expected to draw more than 900 participants, including 200 global education and information services
companies. It also features leading institutional investors, private equity and venture capital funds, as well as industry
specialists.
"There has been continued evolution of the education sector being more broadly defined, more software enabled, more global and
in general, following the path of education itself," said Susan Wolford, BMO Capital Markets'
Group Head of Technology and Business Services. "Especially in a year of high M&A interest at attractive valuations, we are
looking forward to lively discussions that focus on the evolution of the sector."
The conference is framed around a series of high-level fireside chats, industry panels and Q&A sessions on topics
including:
- Investing Across the Spectrum
- How the Business of Education is Reinvesting Higher Ed
- The Business of Running a School
- Private School Trends: The Road to Global Citizenship
- Edtech Investing: A Second Wind?
