ZUG, Switzerland, Nov. 16, 2017 /CNW/ - Katanga Mining
Limited (TSX: KAT) ("Katanga" or the "Company") today is providing a status update regarding the
previously announced review of certain of the Company's past accounting by the independent directors of the Company's Board of
Directors (the "Independent Directors"). The review has concluded and the Company continues to work diligently and devote all
necessary resources to file its 2017 second quarter financial statements and related disclosures and its restated historical
financial statements and related disclosures as soon as practicable. In addition, the filing of the Company's unaudited interim
financial statements for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2017, and accompanying
MD&A have also been delayed beyond the November 14, 2017 deadline under National Instrument
51-102 – Continuous Disclosure Requirements. With the review now concluded, the Company is in discussions with staff of
the Ontario Securities Commission regarding the Company's required filings. The Company now expects to make such filings on or
before November 22, 2017, rather than November 14, 2017, as
previously reported.
As previously announced, the Company is subject to a management cease trade order ("MCTO") issued by the Ontario Securities
Commission. The MCTO prohibits the directors and executive officers of the Company from trading in or acquiring securities of the
Company until two full business days after the Company's 2017 second and third quarter filings and previously disclosed restated
financial statements and related management's discussion and analysis are filed.

delay in completing the restatement of the Company's historical financial statement; unforeseen action taken by the Ontario
Securities Commission or other securities regulatory authorities; unforeseen delays or changes to the WOL Project; actual results
of current exploration activities; actual results and interpretation of current reclamation activities; conclusions of economic
evaluations; changes in project parameters as plans continue to be refined; future prices of copper and cobalt; possible
variations in ore grade or recovery rates; failure of plant, equipment or processes to operate as anticipated; accidents,
labour disputes and other risks of the mining industry; delays in obtaining governmental approvals or financing or in the
completion of exploration, development or construction activities, delays due to strikes or other work stoppage, both internal

events or results not to be as anticipated, estimated or intended. There can be no assurance that forward-looking statements will
prove to be accurate, as actual results and future events could differ materially from those anticipated in such statements.
Accordingly, readers should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements.
The Company disclaims any intention or obligation to update or revise any forward-looking statements whether as a result of
