PITTSBURGH, Jan. 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- II‐VI Incorporated (NASDAQ:IIVI), a leading provider of
high-performance optics and coatings, today announced the introduction of its tristimulus colorimeter filters to measure display
brightness and color.
The increased adoption of displays in consumer electronics and the availability of ever-larger display sizes are driving the
demand for colorimetry capabilities that speed up the throughput of display calibration on the production line. II-VI’s
tristimulus colorimeter filters achieve high transmission in the visible wavelength range and deep blocking of near infrared and
ultraviolet, to enable very high luminance measurement sensitivity and dynamic range. The filters also closely match, to within
1.2%, the target spectrum defined by the CIE 1931 standard, enabling highly accurate chromaticity measurements.
“The degree to which our filters closely match the standard has been praised by our customers as industry leading,” said
Guanglong Yu, Vice President, R&D, II-VI Photop. “The global ramp up in OLED display manufacturing is presently driving the
strong demand for our filters and we expect this to accelerate in the future with the adoption of new flexible and foldable OLED
technologies into additional applications and larger display sizes.”
II-VI’s tristimulus colorimeter filters enable color analyzers for a wide range of display technologies, including LEDs, OLEDs
and LCDs. The filters can be customized to match other target spectra for colorimetry in various industrial, printing and
textile applications. II-VI’s portfolio of products for color analyzers includes infrared rejection filters, collimating lenses and
fiber bundles for detection probes.
II-VI at SPIE Photonics West, Jan. 30- Feb. 1, 2018, Booth # 1230
II-VI will exhibit at SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco one of the broadest portfolios of merchant products for all laser
technology platforms employed in high-power or precision materials processing. From ultraviolet to the far-infrared, II-VI’s market
leading laser optics will be on display along with new products for fiber lasers and some of the most advanced laser heads and beam
delivery solutions on the market. In the life sciences area, II-VI’s display will consist of spectroscopy optics, flow cells and
precision temperature controlled modules to support advances such as in DNA sequencing. II-VI will also show products from
epitaxial wafers to semiconductor lasers that will enable exciting new features such as 3D sensing in the next generation of
consumer electronics.
