CALGARY, Alberta, April 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. (TSX-V:FLY)
(OTCQX:FLYLF) (the “Company” or “FLYHT”) is excited to announce that operators with the Automated Flight Information Reporting
System (AFIRSTM) installed for real-time data services on their aircraft have logged, in the aggregate, over three
million flight hours on the UpTimeTM services platform. The first million hours accumulated over seven years, the second
million were achieved in three and a half years, and the third million in just over two years.
FLYHT’s customers have enabled this new flight hours achievement and this milestone falls close behind the
celebration of FLYHT’s two millionth flight on March 22 this year.
First Air is a FLYHT customer that operates in remote regions in Northern Canada and has been a customer of
FLYHT since 2013, after adding AFIRS to its B737 and ATR42 fleet. The airline uses FLYHTHealthTM which automatically
reports engine trending data, satisfying engine monitoring requirements, and provides engine and airframe exceedances that provide
visual alerts, notifying them when aircraft experience abnormal situations.
“I’m very happy to see First Air continue to enjoy the benefits AFIRS has to offer,” stated Matieu Plamondon,
FLYHT’s Chief Operating Officer. “The velocity at which we accumulate flight hours is a testament to our growing footprint.”
First Air is able to monitor the movement of its aircraft through AFIRS' real-time messaging, ensuring that
members of the Operational Control Centre are intuitively aware of delays. First Air also uses satellite voice communication
between pilots and Dispatch allowing them to heighten the monitoring of its operation.
First Air announced the adoption of FLYHTStreamTM in April 2014, making them the first operator in
the world to enable real-time emergency Satcom data streaming of the essential parameters of the Flight Data Recorder. FLYHTStream
provides First Air with a unique safety feature to support its operation in Canada’s Arctic.
“Thanks to FLYHT, we are able to provide superior customer service to our passengers while adding an additional
level of safety to our flight crews, whether on the ground or in the air,” commented Rashwan Domloge, VP Maintenance & Engineering
/ PRM at First Air.
"We are pleased with the monitoring capability of the system that allows us to keep a close eye on the
performance of the aircraft and engines. We appreciate the operational benefits from the AFIRS system as well as the ongoing
support from FLYHT as we look for ways to continuously improve the safety, performance and efficiencies of our fleet," added
Rashwan.

manufacturers have installed the Automated Flight Information Reporting System (AFIRSTM) on their aircraft to capture,
process and stream aircraft data with real-time alerts. AFIRS sends this information through satellite networks to the
UpTimeTM cloud-based data center, which provides aircraft operators with direct insight into the
operational status and health of their aircraft and enables them to take corrective action to maintain the highest
standard of operational control.
