DLB

SAN FRANCISCO, May 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) employees and community partners participated in the annual Dolby Cares Day – the company’s global volunteer effort spanning the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific between April and June. The company has proudly supported events such as hosting Dolby Atmos screenings for underprivileged children in Mumbai and designed and installed custom outdoor speakers and recording booths for youth storytellers at San Francisco non-profit 826 Valencia.

“Dolby is in a unique position to make a difference in our global communities by volunteering our employees’ skills, time, care, and offering financial support,” said Linda Rogers, SVP of human resources, Dolby Laboratories. “We are excited for the continued growth in our Dolby Cares Day efforts and the positive impact they will have on children and the underserved around the world.”

This commitment to service is part of the Dolby Cares program, which combines the company’s unique intersection of art and science to inspire the next generation of innovators and address communities’ most critical needs. Since launching in 2014, the program has seen exponential growth, with the company donating over $2.1 million to various nonprofits in fiscal year 2017. In addition, Dolby employees donated $1 million to nonprofits in fiscal year 2017 through the Dolby Match program.
