Carver Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ: CARV) stock was trading higher by 13 percent early Friday morning after soaring 200 percent throughout Thursday's trading session on no notable news. The company said it, "Has not taken any corporate action that would explain the trading activity."

AmTrust Financial Services Inc (NASDAQ: AFSI) was trading higher by 5 percent. Notable activist investor and major shareholder Carl Icahn delivered a letter to the company's board claiming it's "blatantly taking advantage" of minority shareholders as part of a $2.7 billion going-private deal.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMD) was trading higher by nearly 3 percent after Cowen analysts initiated coverage of the stock with an Outperform rating and $18 price target. The firm believes AMD is poised to see a competitive inflection point against its peers and see strong gaming and datacenter GPU sales.

Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) was trading higher by 2.5 percent. The toymaker highlighted in a press release new digital content, products and partnerships in conjunction with its Hot Wheels brand which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. However, absent in the press release was any material news or financial guidance.

DiamondRock Hospitality Company (NYSE: DRH) was trading nearly flat despite being downgraded by analysts at Evercore ISI. The firm downgraded DiamondRock and upgraded other names in the sector.
