list of top performing midtier banks, ranking 32 out of 237 national institutions. Washington Trust has been included within the

The list, which was published in the June edition of American Banker magazine, ranks 237 public and
private companies with assets between $2 billion and $10 billion as of 12/31/17. The ranking is determined using the Capital
Performance Group analysis of data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence, and based on each institution’s three-year
average returns on equity. Washington Trust had a three-year ROAE of 11.74%.
