SÃO PAULO, July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Azul S.A., "Azul," (B3: AZUL4, NYSE: AZUL), the
largest airline in Brazil by number of cities served, announces today its preliminary traffic
results for June 2018.
Consolidated passenger traffic (RPKs) increased 21.0% compared to June 2017 on a capacity
increase (ASKs) of 24.7%. Load factor was 78.8%, 2.4 percentage points lower than June 2017.
In the 2Q18, load factor was 80.1%, slightly lower than the year before, even with the truckers' strike and the World Cup.
Domestic load factor was 77.8% and international was 86.7%.
"We ended the quarter with 15 A320neos, which continue to significantly expand margins in the markets where they are
deployed," says John Rodgerson, Azul's CEO. "Although load factor was impacted by non-recurring
events including the truckers' strike and the FIFA World Cup, we are expecting a healthy demand environment ahead of us
for the second half of this year."
Azul continues to be the most on-time airline in Brazil in the first half of 2018, with 89%
of flights departing within 15 minutes of departure time, according to FlightStats.
