HONG KONG, Aug. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hang Lung Properties
is pleased to announce that the community project, the Hang Lung Young Architects Program (HLYAP), has won three honors in the
category "Communications or PR Campaign of the Year" at the International Business Awards 2018. The accolades are a Silver Stevie
in the sub-category "Reputation/Brand Management"; a Silver Stevie in the sub-category "Sponsorship"; and a Bronze Stevie in the
sub-category "Community Relations". The awards are a substantial recognition of Hang Lung's
determination in launching the Program, with the ultimate goal of inspiring the youth to appreciate the relationship between
architecture and our communities while learning about Hong Kong's history and culture.
Hang Lung is honored to learn that the judging panel was satisfied with the Program's
impressive scale in engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including students, professionals, academics, volunteers, and others.
As observed by the judges, the tailor-made Program was sophisticated in promoting architecture as important cultural and social
capital, and applied a lot of innovative approaches such as the use of social media platforms and mobile apps to inspire
participants to immerse themselves in the subject.
Mr. Weber Lo, Chief Executive Officer of Hang Lung Properties said, "Hang Lung is glad to learn
that our CSR effort has been recognized and appreciated on a global scale. As a major property developer in Hong Kong, we are committed to serving the communities in which we operate and in particular, supporting
youth development. We are pleased to leverage on our network and the professional knowledge of our colleagues in establishing
this very special platform for local youngsters, through which they were given the opportunities to appreciate Hong Kong's architecture, as well as the stories and history behind them."
The International Business Awards is one of the seven premier business awards presented by The Stevie Awards to honor
accomplishments and contributions by organizations and working professionals worldwide. This year, the judging panel received
more than 3,900 nominations from 74 nations and territories.
Launched by Hang Lung Properties in October 2017, the HLYAP brought about a series of
interactive lectures, workshops, a photo contest and guided tours in the space of nine months. Numbering prominent architects,
seasoned scholars, and professionals from Hang Lung's project management team were invited as
Program Advisors to share their insights and experiences with this new generation of young architects. The three winning teams of
students, who won the architectural tour design competition held in the last phase of the Program, are departing on overseas
architectural tours this summer, taking a further step ahead to appreciate more about the world of architecture. The second
edition of the HLYAP will open for registration in mid-2019.
