SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Aug. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/
-- Sientra, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIEN), a medical aesthetics company, today announced that its FULL CIRCLE grant applications are
now open for any U.S. based, nonprofit breast cancer organizations supporting breast cancer aid, research, patient outreach,
advocacy, and prevention. The application period will end on September 15, 2018, and recipients
will be announced by Sientra in October 2018.
Sientra FULL CIRCLE™ is a first-of its-kind charitable program aimed at aiding nonprofits in the breast cancer community who
are committed to making a meaningful difference. The philanthropic initiative is supporting these organizations with the
financial resources to fulfill their promising visions for the future – whether it is furthering research of breast cancer
prevention, detection and treatment, or advancing educational efforts among the breast cancer and breast reconstruction
community.
As part of the program, Sientra donates a portion of every OPUS™ breast tissue expander sale to the FULL CIRCLE fund.
Currently, Sientra offers breast tissue expanders to provide more choices to meet the individualized needs of the patients,
including: AlloX2®, the first and only breast tissue expander with access to the periprosthetic space to address fluid
accumulation; and Dermaspan™, designed to provide a soft feel and desired outcomes.
"At Sientra, we believe that full commitment to a cause is about more than offering clinically-proven, safe and reliable
products," said Jeff Nugent, Chairman and CEO at Sientra. "We will always support research and
education on breast implant technology for surgeons and the women they serve, as well as support philanthropies focused on the
research and treatment of patients with breast cancer. We are inspired by the work breast cancer organizations have done
throughout the U.S. and are excited to give back to patients through FULL CIRCLE."
All applications will be evaluated by the FULL CIRCLE Steering Committee, a well-respected and independent team of
board-certified plastic surgeons, with the goal of awarding grants to nonprofits committed to making a brighter future for the
breast cancer community. The Committee is comprised of Dr. Peter Capizzi, Charlotte, NC; Dr. Troy Pittman, Washington,
D.C.; and Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler, Silicon Valley, CA.
"I am excited about Sientra's FULL CIRCLE program – it is great to see the company's unique dedication to breast
reconstruction patients by giving back to organizations who can make a difference," said Dr. Troy
Pittman, one of FULL CIRCLE's Steering Committee members.
Sientra is the first and only medical aesthetics company to support an annual philanthropic program providing grants to
nonprofit organizations focused on breast cancer issues. To apply for a Sientra FULL CIRCLE grant, please complete an application
