QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 12, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - True to the importance it gives to community involvement, iA Financial Group is launching the second edition of its Canada-wide philanthropic contest. From September 15th to October 15th, charities that work with people living with mental health issues will be invited to answer the question "What more could you do with a donation of $125,000?". Close to $300,000 will be donated to the ten organizations with the most inspiring submissions.

"The large number of charities who submitted projects last year really touched us. We are very happy to have our philanthropic contest once again this year and in the years to come. We want to introduce and promote Canadian charities that are committed to the quality of life of Canadians, like us.", states Denis Ricard, President and Chief Executive Officer of iA Financial Group.

The first edition of this contest, organized as part of iA Financial Group's 125th anniversary, created such enthusiasm that the company decided to make it an annual contest.

It is important to note that there will be a special theme every year, beginning this year with mental health, an issue that many Canadians face directly or indirectly every year. In fact, according the Canadian Mental Health Association, one in five Canadians will be personally affected by a mental health issue in his or her lifetime1. Moreover, based on recent data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information, emergency room visits by Canadian children and youth with mental health issues have increased by 66% in the last ten years2.

THE PUBLIC'S FAVOURITES
At the end of the submission period, we will select ten submissions, which will be presented to the public on November 1st. The public will be invited to vote for the two most inspiring submissions. A donation of $125,000 will be made to the charity that received the most votes, a donation of $50,000 will be made to the charities that rank second and third, and a donation of $10,000 will be made to the remaining seven finalists. Contest results will be announced on December 11th.

Contest details and the complete list of eligibility criteria are available at ia.ca/contest-ia-donations.
