GreenPower Receives Order for Three EV Stars from Green Commuter

V.GPV

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GreenPower Motor Company Inc. (TSXV: GPV) (OTCQX: GPVRF) (“GreenPower”) announces that Green Commuter has ordered three EV Star All-Electric Min–eBuses for deployment for Vanpooling and Sharing services.

Green Commuter is an all-electric vanpool provider based in California that combines vanpooling, car sharing and fleet replacement. Currently, Green Commuter’s fleet consists of the Tesla Model X.

“We were impressed with our test drive of GreenPower’s EV Star.  As our company activates new vanpool contracts with LA Metro and Victor Valley Transit, we are focused on offering an expanded fleet to attract more commuters. The EV Star meets all of our requirements and gives us the opportunity to provide Zero-Emission Vehicle vanpool services to larger groups,” said Gustavo Occhiuzzo, CEO of Green Commuter. “This means we can make an even greater environmental impact by maximizing the use of our zero-emission fleet.”

“We are extremely excited to have a disruptive company like Green Commuter add our buses to their already impressive fleet,” noted Brendan Riley, President of GreenPower. “During a test-drive with Green Commuter that I happened to be a passenger on, Gustavo put the EV Star through its paces with rapid lane changes, cornering and emergency stops and in the process showed off the amazing handling and braking characteristics of this vehicle.” When I asked him about the unconventional maneuvers, he just said “This is how drivers will use the EV Star with a smile on his face.”

The EV Star is an all–electric, zero emission, 25-foot bus that seats up to 19 people or can be used to transport cargo, with an operational range of 100 to 150 miles on a single charge.  This versatile vehicle can be used for micro-transit services, para-transit, vanpool, shuttle, school, employee transportation, tourist operations or cargo transport. The EV Star is a great choice for cities, transit agencies and local organizations with a mandate to reduce emissions.
