Golden State Water Company Donates More Than 8,000 Turkeys to Families and Individuals in Need Through
Operation Gobble
American States Water Company (NYSE:AWR) announced that during the month of November, its regulated utility subsidiary, Golden
State Water Company (GSWC) worked in partnership with elected officials and community leaders to distribute more than 8,000 turkeys
to organizations that serve families and individuals with limited resources through its annual Operation Gobble outreach
program.
“GSWC serves 76 communities throughout California, and we are able to make a big impact through the Operation Gobble program
which provides holiday meals for those who may otherwise go without,” said Robert J. Sprowls, President and Chief Executive Officer
for GSWC. “We appreciate the partnerships we have with local elected officials and community organizations to ensure the turkeys
find their way to those who need them most.”
Operation Gobble is a philanthropic partnership between GSWC, the California Water Association and local and state elected
officials. This year, GSWC employees distributed turkeys to local community-based organizations, including The Salvation Army, Boy
Scouts of America, Lions Club, churches, food banks, senior centers and other nonprofits in the communities it serves.
Operation Gobble has been a GSWC tradition since 1990. Over the last 28 years, GSWC has donated more than 230,000 turkeys
