FTI Consulting Announces Appointment of Bob Moran and Former Congressman Bud Cramer as Co-Heads of Government Relations Offering

FCN

WASHINGTON, Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE:FCN) today announced the addition of Robert “Bob” Moran, a veteran public affairs executive, as a Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of the Government Relations offering, working alongside former Congressman Robert “Bud” Cramer (D-AL), in the Strategic Communications segment. Mr. Moran and Former Congressman Cramer, both based in Washington, D.C., will report to Jackson Dunn, who leads the integrated Public Affairs & Government Relations practice in the Americas.

As co-leaders, former Congressman Cramer and Mr. Moran will share responsibility for leading the firm’s Government Relations team in Washington, working in close collaboration with Mr. Dunn and other senior leaders in Brussels, London and other key regulatory and capital markets centers around the world.

Mr. Moran has nearly 30 years of experience as a public-affairs professional, having most recently served as Vice President for Government & External Affairs at Halliburton, where he helped the company navigate complex energy, environment, tax and trade policy matters, government oversight and investigations proceedings, and related communications challenges. Prior to his 12-year tenure with Halliburton, Mr. Moran served in senior legislative and regulatory advisory roles at the American Petroleum Institute and the National Ocean Industries Association.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting in 2014, former Congressman Cramer represented Alabama’s 5th District for 18 years in the House of Representatives, where he served on the Appropriations, Intelligence, Science, and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees. While on the Intelligence Committee, he served as chairman of its Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. He also co-founded and co-chaired the Blue Dog Coalition, an influential group of conservative Democratic lawmakers. Since his retirement from the House of Representatives, former Congressman Cramer has provided corporate clients with strategic government affairs and issues management counsel, with a focus on companies in the aerospace, defense, financial services and transportation industries.

“Bob and Bud have decades of highly relevant experience and a wealth of uniquely complementary expertise to bring to bear for our firm and our clients,” said Brian Kennedy, Head of the Americas for the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting. “Their leadership will help grow our government relations business, but the value they will deliver as part of the multidisciplinary teams we assemble for clients contending with crises, oversight and investigations proceedings, litigation and complex transactions involving foreign investment in the U.S. will undoubtedly extend far beyond Washington.”

Commenting on his appointment to the firm, Mr. Moran said, “FTI Consulting has a global footprint, range of practice offerings and depth of sector expertise that few consultancies can rival. I’m excited to be a part of that and fortunate to have the opportunity to do so alongside Bud Cramer and other leaders across the firm. Companies in heavily regulated industries are increasingly searching for consulting firms with the ability to assemble teams of highly experienced, multi-disciplinary professionals who can execute multi-stakeholder communications and engagement strategies in an integrated fashion. That’s what FTI Consulting can deliver, and it’s a value proposition that leads to more insightful strategies, minimized risk in execution, as well as better and more effective alignment in pursuit of management’s business objectives.”

Former Congressman Cramer noted, “Bob bears all the marks of an experienced and effective government affairs executive who has managed legislative, regulatory and oversight and investigations matters in Washington. And as a former member of oversight and investigations committees in Congress, I’m intimately familiar with some of the matters that caused those marks. Bob is widely respected on both sides of the aisle due to his insights, abilities and tenacity. I look forward to partnering him with him to serve clients and grow our business.”
