NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ORHub, Inc. (OTC: ORHB) (the "Company" or "ORHub"), a SaaS-based healthcare data analytics company uniquely
focused on the business of surgery to improve the profitability of health systems, hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
(ASCs), today announces an original article was published in the Journal of Surgical Research titled "Effects of a Surgical Receipt Program on the Supply Costs of Five General Surgery Procedures" which was
co-authored by Blake Stock, MBA, Senior Director of Product for ORHub.
The abstract clearly shows that while controlling surgical supply costs remain challenging, an automated and operationalized
surgeon-directed cost feedback system derived from the automated surgical receipt may be a useful tool to control surgical
expenditures for healthcare systems. According to the study, there was a significant decrease in median case costs for
three commonly performed surgical procedures after deploying the use of an automated surgical case receipt.
"We are extremely proud to have a senior member of the ORHub team published amongst his peers," said Colt Melby, Chief Executive Officer of ORHub. "Blake's expertise, having spent over ten years developing
healthcare enterprise analytic solutions at various health systems, was instrumental in the development of the Surgical
Spotlight™ where one of the key reports is the daily surgical case receipt. Over time, we expect similar
results across ORHub's clients to be reflected in the lower cost of surgical care."
"As physicians, our main focus is on patient care and achieving the best possible outcomes. Given the problematic rising cost
of healthcare, physicians need to understand the finances of procedures to play a role in controlling these costs. The ORHub case
receipt is part of a game-changing platform to help physicians and administrators institute changes to control surgical
expenditure and enhance patient care," said Dr. Kevin Kaplan, Jacksonville Jaguars Head Team
Physician. Dr. Kevin Kaplan is a nationally esteemed orthopaedic surgeon who has contributed
to over twenty publications, earned research awards and has received specialized training in orthopaedic trauma surgery.
