Fourth Annual Women Transforming Technology Conference – Registration Now Open

PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 24, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VMware, Inc. (NYSE:VMW), in partnership with MotherCoders, Mozilla, Pivotal, Rubrik, Stanford VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab and Women Who Code, today announced that registration is open for the fourth annual Women Transforming Technology (WT2) Conference. Taking place on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, this world-class community event is designed to continue the important conversation on advancing women in the workplace across the tech industry. It will host attendees ranging from students and executives to industry, academia and nonprofit organizations.

Featuring inspiring role models who have shattered the “glass ceiling” in a male-dominated industry, the WTConference will cultivate a supportive environment for women and allies in the Silicon Valley technology industry. This year’s keynote speakers will be Ashley Judd, actress and political activist, and Joy Buolamwini, graduate researcher at the MIT Media Lab and leader of the Algorithmic Justice League to fight coded bias. Additional breakout sessions will showcase thought-provoking speakers on the most pressing topics impacting women in technology today. Sessions will be broken down into five tracks based on technical and seniority level including:

  1. Emerging Leadership – for the professional who would like to focus on developing their personal brand and gaining insight into their individual leadership style
  2. Executive Leadership – for the more seasoned professional who is already in the managerial track and wanting to advance to the next level
  3. Technical – for technical professionals who want to discuss trends and what’s hot in tech today
  4. VP+ Breakout (Invite only) – for VPs and above, content-specific for current executives
  5. Diversity & Inclusion – for professionals wanting to learn and share best D&I practices and commit to cross industry collaboration

“VMware recognizes the need to empower and inspire change in order to combat the systemic challenge of low percentages of women in tech at all levels. Women’s full participation in leadership and technology is critical to the future of the industry,” said Betsy Sutter, corporate senior vice president and chief people officer, VMware. “For the fourth year, the WT2 Conference aims to create a supportive community, engage the next generation of women in tech, and tackle difficult topics with meaningful discussions that contribute to transforming the industry as a whole.”

Registration is now open to the community. For more information about the WTConference, please visit: http://www.womentransformingtechnology.com/.
