BMO Capital Markets Hires Hon. Scott Brison as Vice-Chair, Investment & Corporate Banking

TORONTO, Feb. 14, 2019 /CNW/ - BMO Capital Markets today announced that it has hired the Honourable Scott Brison as Vice-Chair, Investment & Corporate Banking. In this role, Mr. Brison's primary responsibilities will include senior client coverage and business development. He will be based in Toronto and report to Peter Myers, Global Head of Investment & Corporate Banking.

"Scott's tenure in the Canadian government, combined with his deep knowledge of global economic issues and his experience in the private sector as an entrepreneur and investment banker, make him a valued addition to our firm," said Mr. Myers. "We welcome him to BMO Capital Markets."

Mr. Brison was elected to Canada's House of Commons as Member of Parliament for Kings - Hants (Nova Scotia) in seven general elections and has more than 20 years of government experience. He was first elected to Parliament in June 1997 and has held numerous key roles, including serving as the President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government from 2015 to 2019, as Minister of Public Works and Government Services from 2004 to 2006 and as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister (Canada-U.S.) from 2003 to 2004. Among other achievements, he helped lead regulatory competitiveness reform, including deepening cooperation with the U.S. through the Regulatory Cooperation Council.

Mr. Brison has been a member of the Trilateral Commission and was named by the World Economic Forum as one of its "Young Global Leaders". In 2010, he was awarded the Order of San Carlos by the President of Colombia in recognition of his contributions to the Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
