Prudential Financial recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute for fifth consecutive
year
Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:
PRU) has been named a 2019 World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere® Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing
the standards of ethical business practices. This is the fifth consecutive year that Prudential has received this recognition,
which is awarded to organizations that demonstrate a culture of ethics and transparency at every level.
“Supported by our collaborative culture and focus on superior execution, we strive to make people’s lives better by solving the
financial challenges of our changing world,” said Prudential CEO
Charles Lowrey. “At Prudential, our belief that we must always do the right thing underpins this purpose. It also informs our
long-term perspective, and the way we work every day to create financial opportunity for more people.”
The World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient® framework, which offers
a quantitative way to assess a company’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized manner. Companies are evaluated
in five key categories: ethics and compliance program, culture of ethics, corporate citizenship and responsibility, governance, and
leadership and reputation.
“Prudential’s recognition reflects our employees’ steadfast commitment to conduct business with high ethical standards,” said
Joe Emanuel, senior vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer for Prudential. “I would like to thank all of our
employees for their continuous dedication to acting with integrity, a hallmark of our long-term business success.”
Emanuel, who has oversight responsibility for Prudential’s worldwide compliance organization and the company’s global business
ethics activities, notes that the company’s business ethics program promotes prevention, detection and resolution of potential
misconduct and adherence to the letter and spirit of regulatory and legal mandates.
“Prudential has a long tradition of creating financial opportunities for individuals, families, institutions and communities.
Our customers count on us to be there when they need us most. A strong ethical foundation supports everything we do to deliver on
our long-term promises,” said Emanuel.
“Today, employees, investors and stakeholders are putting their greatest trust in companies to take a leadership role in their
communities and demonstrate best practices in ethical behavior. Companies that take the long view with a purpose-based strategy are
proven to not only outperform but last,” said Ethisphere’s chief executive officer, Timothy Erblich. “I congratulate everyone at
Prudential for earning this recognition.”
