NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- VNUE, Inc., today
announced that Jim King, former Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Technology at BMI
(Broadcast Music Incorporated) has joined the company, and will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Mr. King has held CIO, CTO, and COO level roles with leading global information services, media and publishing companies
including McGraw-Hill (S&P Global), Brightpoint, PR Newswire (Cision), LexisNexis and Reed
Elsevier PLC, and leadership roles with such companies as Microsoft and NCR/AT&T Bell Labs. He is also founder of
multiple startups including Core Rights, which developed technology focused on machine learning-based sales lead generation and
venue music licensing utilizing blockchain technology.
"Jim King brings to VNUE a wealth of valuable knowledge in the area of music licensing and the
PROs and MROs, and the technology that is changing the landscape of that business model," said Zach
Bair, CEO of VNUE. "Jim will be the driving force in pulling our various products, services, and technologies
together, particularly as it pertains to Soundstr, our groundbreaking music recognition technology platform (MRT), and working
together with our executive team to further develop our strategy to build a cohesive and modern ecosystem for transparent and
accurate rights management in music and media, through our own development as well as acquisition of various other
technologies."
King said, "As both a venue owner and a technology and operations leader, I see the need for a simplified and transparent
music and entertainment rights environment as well as the distinct need for creators to have their assets properly valued to
promote a more efficient industry. Technology, practical business processes, value-oriented economics, and collaborative
data-rich solutions are emerging and I am excited to be working with a team that represents both the consumer and the creative
aspects of the entertainment marketplace."
While at BMI, Mr. King, a Nashville resident, won the Nashville Technology Council's
prestigious CTO of the Year Award. In 2013, under King's leadership, BMI also ranked number 26 in InformationWeek's
top 500 list of innovative companies. King added, "Music companies across the industry supply chain run on tremendous
amounts of data – measured in the trillions of transactions in some cases. With BMI I was fortunate to gain an
understanding of the large and complex scale of today's digital music world – and to work with so many dedicated people across
the industry."
