Cinemark Brings 14-Screen Theatre to Jacksonville’s Atlantic North Shopping Center

As a part of Sleiman Enterprises’ shopping center development, the new theatre will feature Luxury Lounger electric recliners, an XD auditorium and more

Cinemark Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CNK), a leader in the motion picture exhibition industry, announced plans to build a new 14-screen theatre in phase two of Sleiman Enterprises’ Atlantic North shopping center. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2020, the theatre will be located at the northwest quadrant of Atlantic and Kernan boulevards in Jacksonville, Florida.

“We are excited to be a part of Atlantic North,” said Mark Zoradi, Cinemark’s CEO. “Our Cinemark theatre will be the entertainment anchor to this impressive shopping center, providing an unparalleled entertainment experience for the eastern communities of the Jacksonville metropolitan area.”

Belk, Earth Fare, Academy Sports + Outdoors and LA Fitness anchor Atlantic North. In addition to Cinemark’s theatre, phase two of Atlantic North will have an additional 300,000 square feet.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cinemark to Atlantic North,” said Sleiman Enterprises leasing representative Ashleigh Sleiman, who represented the deal along with colleague Hunter Sleiman. “Cinemark’s exceptional facility will also serve as a catalyst for advancing phase two, bringing Sleiman Enterprises’ development at Atlantic and Kernan to a total of 550,000 square feet.”

Each of the 14 auditoriums at the Cinemark Atlantic North theatre will boast advanced technology and customer-preferred amenities including:

  • A Cinemark XD auditorium – the No. 1 private-label Premium Large Format in the world;
  • Cinemark’s Luxury Loungers – electric-powered, plush, oversize recliners with footrests and cup holders;
  • Reserved seating with convenient online and kiosk ticketing;
  • An ultramodern viewing environment with wall-to-wall screens and enhanced sound systems;
  • 4K digital projection powered by Barco projectors; RealD 3D capability; and
  • A welcoming lobby, complete with a full-service, traditional concession stand filled with favorite offerings like popcorn, Coca-Cola beverages and must-have candy brands.
