IRVING, Texas, March 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blucora, Inc. (NASDAQ: BCOR), a leading provider of tax-smart financial
solutions that empower people’s goals, today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to $100
million of its common stock. The authorization is effective immediately and does not have a specified expiration date.
“The new stock repurchase program enhances our capital allocation strategy and provides us with a complementary tool to deliver
value to our shareholders,” said Davinder Athwal, Blucora’s Chief Financial Officer. “While we remain focused on debt
reduction and investments that will drive long-term organic growth, this authorization provides additional flexibility and an
alternative for cash redeployment through opportunistic buybacks.”
Share repurchases may be made through a variety of methods, including open market or privately negotiated transactions. The
timing and number of shares repurchased will depend on a variety of factors, including price, general business and market
conditions, and alternative investment opportunities. Blucora’s repurchase program does not obligate it to repurchase any specific
number of shares and may be suspended or discontinued at any time. Repurchased shares will be available for general corporate
purposes. The company had 48 million shares outstanding as of December 31, 2018.
