QuoteWizard Study Finds Mississippi, Texas, and South Carolina to be the Most Dangerous States for Motorcyclists

TREE

SEATTLE, May 13, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- QuoteWizard®, a LendingTree company, and one of the nation's leading online insurance marketplaces, today released its study on the top most dangerous states for motorcycle riders.

Key findings:

  • Colder, more northern states like Alaska and New Hampshire have low fatality rates, while warmer, more southern states like Texas and Tennessee had the highest rates.
  • Warm weather states are most dangerous for motorcycle riders because of the year-round chances of road fatalities compared to the limited timeframes of colder weather states.
  • In 2017, there were just over 8.4 million registered motorcycles in the United States. That's a 23-percent increase over the last decade.
