COPPELL, Texas, May 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In May, Brink’s marked its 160th anniversary, and its rich legacy of providing safety, security and peace of mind for customers around the world.
In 1859, Perry Brink bought a horse-drawn wagon for less than $200, and began transporting parcels in Chicago, Ill. Within a few years, Brink’s City Express became a trusted source for transporting large amounts of cash, a business niche that would define the company and serve as its foundation for the future.
“Today, Brink’s is the world’s largest cash management company, with a strong brand that’s recognized globally,” said Ray Shemanski, president of Brink’s U.S. and Canada. “We are proud to be a part of an elite group of organizations and landmarks that can celebrate a milestone of this magnitude. We are incredibly grateful for the hard work of our dedicated team, and the trust of our valued customers who helped make this historic moment possible.”
Brink’s Puts Down Roots in Jacksonville
Operations in Jacksonville officially began in 1968. Since then, the company has added more than 140 new jobs to the city, and is looking to add more. Today, Brink’s serves a multitude of retailers, restaurants, small businesses and financial institutions in North Florida including Gainesville, Tallahassee, and extending up as far as Savannah, Ga.
“We're immensely proud of where we've been, and even more excited about where we're going,” said Evie Chitty, district vice president for the Brink’s Florida region. “Like our founder before us, we intend to transform our industry by adapting to the needs of our customers. We are doing just that right here in the great state of Florida.”
The Jacksonville branch houses operations for both Cash-in-Transit (armored trucks) and Cash Vault Services (money processing). Last year, Brink’s acquired Dunbar Armored and combined its operations in Jacksonville. With the acquisition, success and growth in Florida, doors are opening for new opportunities.
Today, Brink’s has approximately 17 positions on its Jacksonville team ready for new drivers/messengers and ATM and cash coordinators, as well as operations leadership roles. Brink’s is a military-friendly company and employs a significant number of U.S. veterans in operations and administration roles.
In its 160th year, Brink’s is celebrating its rich history, diverse culture and looking forward to an even brighter future. To find out more about Brink’s U.S. or available career opportunities, please visit our websites:
