According to the Complaint, the Company made false and misleading
statements to the market. Hecla’s operations in Nevada suffered a wide
range of material problems causing them to hemorrhage cash. The problems
were identified by the Company during due diligence of the Nevada mines.
Based on these continuing problems, the Company could not reasonably
claim that the Nevada operations would be cash flow-positive or
self-funding. Based on these facts, the Company’s public statements were
false and materially misleading throughout the class period. When the
market learned the truth about Hecla, investors suffered damages.
