ELS Announces Tax Treatment of 2019 Distributions

Equity LifeStyle Properties, Inc. (NYSE: ELS) (referred to herein as “we,” “us” and “our”) today announced the tax treatment of our 2019 common stock distributions. The common stock distributions are adjusted for the 2-for-1 stock split on October 15, 2019 to stockholders of record as of October 1, 2019. The following table summarizes the income tax treatment of our 2019 distributions. All numbers in the table are reported on a post-split basis.

The common stock distribution with a record date of December 28, 2018, paid on January 11, 2019, is a split-year distribution with $0.031500 allocable to 2019 for federal income tax purposes. The common stock distribution with a record date of December 27, 2019, paid on January 10, 2020, is a split-year distribution with $0.290788 considered a distribution made in 2019 and $0.015462 allocable to 2020 for federal income tax purposes.
