LightPath Technologies to Participate in the 15th Annual Needham Virtual Technology and Media Conference

(NASDAQ:LPTH) ("LightPath," the "Company," or "we"), a leading vertically integrated global manufacturer, distributor and integrator of proprietary optical and infrared components and high-level assemblies, today announced its participation in the 15th Annual Needham Virtual Technology and Media Conference. The Company's Chief Executive Officer, Sam Rubin, and Chief Financial Officer, Donald Retreage, will be hosting virtual one-on-one meetings with institutional investors on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

Management will discuss current business operations, including manufacturing of products used for contactless thermal imaging applications in the fight against the novel coronavirus ("COVID-19") pandemic and 5G precision molded visible light lenses for optical networks. In addition, they will review recent financial results for the fiscal 2020 quarter ended March 31, 2020, announced earlier this month, including:

  • Backlog at $20 million setting another record
  • Revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2020 of $8.7 million, up 10% from the prior year period
  • Gross margin as a percentage of revenue of 46%, up from 39% in the prior year period
  • Net income of $816,000, compared to a net loss of $352,000 in the prior year period
  • Total debt, including finance leases, was reduced by nearly $737,000, or 11%, in the first nine months of fiscal 2020 from June 30, 2019.
  • Cash balance at March 31, 2020 was $4.4 million, compared to $4.3 million at December 31, 2019 and $4.6 million at June 30, 2019.
