FranklinCovey Education's Leader in Me Ranked Number One Provider of SEL Change Management and Top-Five Provider of SEL Professional Development and SEL Curriculum in Tyton Partners' New Report

FC

SALT LAKE CITY

Report, Funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Based on Research Data From Extensive Survey of School and District Administrators, Staff and Teachers

FranklinCovey Education today announced its Leader in Me® process was ranked as the number one provider for SEL Change Management and a top-five provider for both SEL Professional Development and SEL Curriculum. The ranking was released in a new report, “Finding Your Place: The Current State of K-12 Social Emotional Learning,”by Tyton Partners, a leading strategy consulting and investment banking firm serving the education sector.

The July 2020 report, which was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, assesses social-emotional learning (SEL) availability, adoption, implementation, and perception in schools and districts across the country. The report is based on data from both primary and secondary research conducted in the fall of 2019, which included fielding an extensive survey of K-12 school and district administrators, teachers, and staff throughout the US, as well as interviews with dozens of providers in the SEL ecosystem. SEL has seen a rapid rise in interest in recent years, as schools and districts seek to leverage its vast benefits to unlock students’ academic potential and equip them with the skills to navigate the challenges of life after school.

“These top rankings for Leader in Me are incredibly validating for all of us at FranklinCovey Education, as the process has also been previously endorsed by the Collaborative for Academic, Social Emotional Learning (“CASEL”), said Sean Covey, President of FranklinCovey Education. “Social-emotional learning and change management have become even more vital for leaders to proactively employ in times of uncertainty and I’m proud of the work we’re doing to support schools and districts who are grappling with a great deal of adversity. Educators are being asked to adapt to dynamic re-entry plans and new physical and virtual learning environments, all while supporting their students, colleagues, and their own families during this crisis. We have continued to invest extensively in ensuring our best-in-class content is now all available online to support our clients in the modality that best fits their school community.”

Tyton Partners defines SEL Change Management as “comprehensive, school-wide approaches to SEL, including a combination of SEL curriculum, professional development, and/or measurement...sometimes including significant implementation support from the provider.” The Leader in Me approach aligns to this definition in its nature as a fully comprehensive process that addresses well-rounded leadership skill development at all levels. Leader in Me team members work closely with school, district, and community leaders to establish a plan to enhance efficacy of those in administrator positions, build leadership capacity among the faculty and staff, and encourage each student to see oneself as a leader capable of outstanding contributions to the community.

Delivered online as well as in-person, Leader in Me is facilitating the change management process for schools who are planning on an extended period of distance learning in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. All content and coaching can be delivered remotely, giving schools a resource to support needs in any context. In a time when unprecedented change has been thrust upon leaders worldwide, Leader in Me is a trusted partner to help schools navigate ongoing challenges and ensure students’ well-rounded needs and that growth goals are equally supported.
