NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bragar Eagel & Squire, P.C., a nationally recognized stockholder rights law firm, has launched an investigation into whether the board members of DouYu International Holdings Limited (NASDAQ: DOYU) breached their fiduciary duties or violated the federal securities laws in connection with the company’s merger with HUYA Inc. (NYSE: HUYA).

On October 12, 2020, DouYu announced that it had signed an agreement to be acquired by HUYA. Pursuant to the merger agreement, DouYu stockholders will receive either 7.30 shares of HUYA common stock for each share of DouYu common stock owned or 0.73 shares of HUYA common stock for each DouYu American Depositary Share (“ADS”) owned. The deal is scheduled to close in the first half of 2021.
Bragar Eagel & Squire is concerned that DouYu’s board of directors oversaw an unfair process and ultimately agreed to an inadequate merger agreement. Accordingly, the firm is investigating all relevant aspects of the deal and is committed to securing the best result possible for DouYu’s stockholders.
