LOS ANGELES , March 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- EVgo , the nation's largest public fast charging network for electric vehicles (EVs) and only platform powered by 100% renewable electricity, announced the Nissan Energy Perks by EVgo program has reached 6,000 members. The program is part of an EVgo and Nissan partnership to promote and build fast charging stations across the country, furthering EVgo's leadership position, geographic footprint, and vehicle reach. Launched at the end of 2019, this program provides $250 of charging credit for new Nissan LEAF and LEAF PLUS drivers in eligible markets.
EVgo and Nissan are partnering to add 200 direct-current fast chargers (DCFC) to the EVgo network, further extending the size of the nation's largest public fast charging network from its current 800 locations in more than 67 metropolitan areas across 34 states and a base of more than 220,000 customers. This network expansion includes the development of new locations spanning Atlanta , Baltimore , Denver , New Brunswick , Sacramento , Seattle , Philadelphia, and along the I-95 corridor on the East Coast. The $250 Nissan Energy Perks charging credit introduces Nissan EV drivers, many of which are first-time EV drivers, to the ease of fast charging, combined with the convenience of charging while they shop at one of EVgo's many conveniently located stations across the nation.
"For the last seven years, Nissan and EVgo have been working together to make it easier for U.S. drivers to go electric. The Nissan LEAF is an iconic vehicle and one of the world's best-selling electric cars," said EVgo Chief Commercial Officer Jonathan Levy . "We are proud to reach this enrollment milestone, which evidences the ongoing momentum of EV adoption and the expanding presence of EVgo. We look forward to making it even easier for new Nissan EV drivers to conveniently and reliably charge their cars on the go."
"The Nissan Energy Perks program empowers Nissan LEAF drivers with the confidence that comes with access to the nation's largest fast charging network," said Aditya Jairaj, director of EV sales and marketing, Nissan Americas. "We're excited that 6,000 new EV drivers have embraced the LEAF and this program, and expect further adoption as the number of EV drivers continues to grow across the U.S. Nissan will continue to work closely with EVgo to make it even easier for drivers to go electric."
