DraftKings is a Boston-based operator of digital sports entertainment and gaming. The Company went public in April 2020 through a business combination with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

On June 15, 2021, Hindenburg Research published a report alleging the online betting company DraftKing's 2020 merger with SBTech Global has exposed the Company to black-market gaming and money laundering. Hindenburg Research called DraftKings "a $21 billion SPAC betting it can hide its black market operations." Following the release of the Hindenburg report, DraftKings shares fell $2.11 per share to close at $48.51.
