Orthofix Medical Inc. (OFIX) Investigation:
The investigation focuses on Orthofix's recent assurances that "[i]t is our fundamental policy to conduct business in accordance with the highest ethical and legal standards."
On Sept. 12, 2023, Orthofix abruptly terminated CEO Keith Valentine, CFO John Bostjancic, and Chief Legal Officer Patrick Keran "for cause." The company explained that "the Board determined that each of these executives engaged in repeated inappropriate and offensive conduct that violated multiple code of conduct requirements and was inconsistent with the Company's values and culture."
In response to this news, certain analysts downgraded Orthofix and the price of Orthofix sharply fell that day.
"We're focused on investors' losses and investigating whether Orthofix may have misled investors about its commitment to comply with its Ethics and Compliance program," said Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the investigation.
