Green Planet Group Announces Sale of Barley Fodder Growing System

GNPG

TEMPE, AZ / ACCESSWIRE / January 10, 2024 / Green Planet Group, Inc. (OTC PINK:GNPG) wholly owned subsidiary Healing the Earth, Inc announced today that it has shipped its first Ultimate Food System™ to be used to grow barley fodder on a beef cattle ranch. The ranch, located in Peyton, Colorado will use the fodder grown to feed Black Angus cattle. The growing system will also be operated as a "test system" to verify the benefits of the highly nutritious barley fodder grown on the Healing the Earth system which grows the fodder extremely quickly using approximately 97% less water than conventional field-grown feed.

Projected benefits of feeding the herd high quality Healing the Earth (HTE) grown fodder include:

  • Increased operating income through the production of a higher beef quality product
  • Improved cattle herd health, reducing mortality rates
  • Enhanced animal growth rates
  • Reduced feed costs
  • Sharply reduced herd methane production, reducing greenhouse gas production
  • Elimination of feed shipping costs and resulting air pollution through on-site growing
  • Reduction of manure production and resulting odor, flies, etc.

Animal performance metrics will be monitored by the rancher's local veterinary service and the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University. The Black Angus test animals will weigh an average of seven hundred (700) pounds at the initiation of the test period. Daily weight gain is projected at approximately three (3) pounds, with the animal harvest weight of twelve hundred (1,200) pounds being attained in just one hundred sixty-six (166) days. The HTE fodder will be supplemented with fair quality hay.

This HTE test system is just forty (40) feet long, but produces three hundred (300) pounds of barley fodder per day. Monthly production is estimated at nine thousand (9,000) pounds with annual production estimated at 109,200 pounds, or nearly fifty-five (55) tons.

Steve Hammers, the Colorado rancher purchasing this system noted, "We're looking forward to getting this growing system up and running. This is a major step forward in building the future of beef cattle ranching. A reduced carbon footprint combined with improved animal health, shorter time to market and a stronger bottom line make the future look bright."

The system was shipped from the HTE manufacturer, Sun West Engineering, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona on December 8, 2023. It is anticipated that installation will be completed and the system operational by January 12, 2024.
