General American Investors Announces Change of Date for 2024 Annual Meeting of Stockholders

General American Investors Company, Inc. (the “Company”), a closed-end investment company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (GAM), today announced that it provided its stockholders with notice of a change in date for its 2024 Annual Meeting of Stockholders (the “Meeting”) through the filing of additional proxy solicitation materials with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In order to move the date of the Meeting closer to the record date and issue notice of the Meeting closer to the date of the Meeting, the date of the Meeting is being changed to Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time versus the originally planned date of April 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. As previously announced, the Meeting will be held at the Century Association, 7 West 43rd Street, New York City, NY 10036. Further information regarding this change in date of the Meeting can be found in the additional proxy solicitation materials filed by the Company with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 5, 2024.

Whether or not you plan to attend the Annual Meeting of Stockholders, each stockholder is urged to vote and submit its proxy in advance of the Annual Meeting of Stockholders using one of the methods described in the proxy materials for the Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

The Company was founded in 1927, has been publicly traded since its inception and has been listed on the NYSE since 1930. The objective of the Company is long-term capital appreciation through investment in companies with above average growth potential.
