CI Global Asset Management(“CI GAM”) announces name changes for its suite of small/mid-cap equity funds, along with risk rating changes to three other funds.
Name changes
Effective June 21, 2024, CI GAM has changed the names of nine funds as shown in the table below.
The new names better reflect the mandates of the funds as well as ensuring consistency across CI GAM’s small/mid-cap equity offering, which spans Canadian, U.S., North American and global portfolios. The funds are managed by CI GAM’s team of small/mid-cap equity specialists, supported by the firm’s deep research capabilities. There are no changes to the funds’ investment objectives and strategies as a result of the name changes.
The changes are part of CI GAM’s strategic initiative to modernize and enhance its product offering, including simplifying its lineup to make it easier for advisors and investors to do business with the firm.
Risk rating changes
Risk rating changes are effective immediately for certain mutual funds, as follows:
CI Global Infrastructure Private Pool is a dual-class fund, available in both mutual fund and ETF series units.
The risk rating changes are based on the risk classification methodology mandated by the Canadian Securities Administrators to determine the risk level of mutual funds, including ETFs. CI GAM reviews the risk rating for each of the funds it manages at least on an annual basis, as well as when a fund undergoes a material change. These changes are the result of an annual review and are not the result of any changes to the investment objectives, strategies or management of the funds.
