Pray.com, the number one app for daily prayer and faith-based content, recently partnered with Palantir Technologies Inc., a leading builder of artificial intelligence systems, aiming to accelerate new product launches — especially in the area of language translation — which could greatly enhance content offerings while exponentially reducing time and costs.
Early on, Pray.com recognized the challenges of translating its content into multiple languages, especially when it came to the cost of staffing and idioms. Pray.com sought software to automate the manual and costly process with a system built and tested for scale. Using Palantir's Ontology Software Development Kit (OSDK), Pray.com has finally been able to process transcripts and translations content at the quality of native language speakers.
Palantir’s OSDK is a new offering for builders which offers seamless, affordable integration of Palantir’s AI capabilities into pre-existing technology stacks covering a wide range of industries. Pray.com selected Palantir to quickly and securely drive AI value into their growing application, becoming among the early major startups embracing OSDK’s capabilities.
“With Pray.com’s incredible content, voiced by some of the most influential voices in faith, and our expanding global reach, we knew we needed a solution to deliver high-quality programming across multiple languages,” said Pray.com Founder and CTO Ryan Beck. “I was impressed by Palantir’s reputation and their years of pioneering AI applications. Partnering with them to develop our solution felt like the right choice. We wanted to move our tech stack from a pre-AI stack to a post-AI stack, and Palantir moved us into a post-AI world.”
Palantir’s AI Platform (AIP) processes Pray.com’s audio and video transcripts and incorporates translations at the quality of native language speakers. As a result of its partnership with Palantir, Pray.com launched nine months’ worth of new product features in a few months and reduced content translation time from days to minutes, multiplied over thousands of hours of podcasts. In addition, thanks to the robustness of Palantir's specialized AI platform, which leverages LLMs optimized to access an authoritative, relevant and accurate internal knowledge base, this tool has become an invaluable resource for Pray.com clients.
“Palantir has enabled Pray.com to accelerate its roadmap while also giving our engineers new capabilities, building enterprise-ready AI systems at scale in half the time,” Beck explained. “Ministries and nonprofits now have access to a fully managed and highly accurate service that can translate content in their voice at a fraction of the cost. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”
“Prayer existed 10,000 years ago, and prayer will exist 10,000 years from now. Thanks to Palantir, Pray.com can protect and defend religious liberty on a global scale,” Pray.com Founder and CEO Steve Gatena said. “By leveraging Palantir’s AIP, Pray.com is reforming workflows for Christian leaders in the 21st century, allowing us to make prayer a priority for billions of people in dozens of languages at the click of a button.”
“So many of the people protecting us look to their faith. Palantir is very proud to partner with Pray.com in supporting the broader Christian community, and especially our warfighters,” said Palantir CEO Alex Karp.
