Hamilton Capital Partners Inc. (“Hamilton ETFs”) confirmed today the annual non-cash distributions (“Non-Cash Distributions”) for its suite of ETFs, all of with trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange, for the year ended December 31, 2024. Please note, this is an update to the estimated Non-Cash Distributions previously announced on December 20, 2024.
ETFs are required to distribute any net income and capital gains earned in the year. The Non-Cash Distributions, shown in the table below, will not be paid in cash, but will be automatically reinvested in additional units of the respective ETFs, and immediately consolidated so that the number of units held by the unitholder and the net asset value of the ETFs will not change. The Non-Cash Distributions will be reported as taxable distributions and will be used to increase each unitholder’s adjusted cost base for the respective ETF.
The record date and ex-dividend date for the Non-Cash Distributions is December 31, 2024. In early 2025, the tax characteristics of all 2024 distributions for the ETFs will be reported to brokers via CDS.
