Sharc International Systems (CSE:SHRC) joins trade mission to Brazil

SHARC International Systems (SHRC) has joined a virtual trade mission to Brazil, to promote its wastewater energy recovery technology.

The virtual trade mission, which started on November 16, is being hosted by Global Affairs Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service. The Service is based out of the Consulate General of Canada in São Paulo, Brazil.

As part of the Canadian delegation, SHARC Energy has already been briefed, and provided with access to a B2B matchmaking program. Through the program, the company can connect with public and private Brazilian companies focused on water and wastewater treatment.

These initial connections will hopefully form the foundations for strong relationships that benefit the company in the Brazilian market.

SHARC Energy’s Chief Financial Officer, Hanspaul Pannu, described this venture as another element of the company’s global commercialisation strategy.

“With its new focus on investing in clean technologies to improve its municipal water, wastewater and energy infrastructure, Brazil presents a major market for SHARC Energy’s wastewater energy recovery technology, which recovers the thermal energy from the water that goes down the drain, reducing the need for other energy sources to heat and cool buildings, in turn reducing GHG emissions,” he said.

Earlier this week, SHARC Energy announced its selection for a similar international promotion program in south-east Asia. The company was one of only nine other businesses chosen for the five-month Canadian Technology Accelerator program.

During the CTA program, SHARC Energy will explore potential business opportunities with leaders in Asia’s clean tech sector, through virtual meetings.

SHARC International Systems is up 4.76 per cent and is trading for C$0.33 per share, as of 11:02am EST.
