Kraken Robotics (PNG) has received a $3 million order for its SeaPower subsea batteries.
The SeaPower is a 6,000-m rated and pressure-tolerant battery based on Kraken’s gel encapsulation technology for lithium polymer batteries.
Kraken’s battery is also hot-swappable and includes an integrated battery management system, offering a very high level of redundancy and safety.
Management views the solution as an attractively priced, environmentally friendly, and superior energy density alternative to traditional oil-compensated batteries used for deep subsea applications.
Delivery will occur later this year.
