After the dam destruction in Ukraine, Draganfly (CSE:DPRO) has performed evacuation, flood management, and demining missions in Kherson.

Draganfly deployed its drone technology and services to support safe evacuation efforts, reduce response time, and enable the efficient assessment of mine locations for demining operations in land and water-affected areas, including marine waterways.

This is an expansion of its joint UAV operations with its partner DEF-C, a Ukrainian company involved in the civil and defense sectors, focused on flood mitigation and nationwide demining innovations. Draganfly completed the real-time situation awareness reconnaissance deployment, which the team said was crucial in supporting safe evacuation efforts and effectively reducing response times.

Fifteen flights were conducted across 2.6 square kilometres using RGB / multispectral and thermal sensors, and the delegation successfully participated in the Kherson community evacuation of injured and vulnerable populations affected by flooding.

This was coordinated through DSNS Emergency Services Ukraine, directed by the Cabinet through the Minister of Internal Affairs for civil protection from emergencies, prevention of emergencies, rectification of emergency consequences, rescue work, fire extinguishing, fire and technogenic safety, accident rescue service activities, and hydrometeorological activities.

Draganfly’s President and CEO, Cameron Chell explained that the recent Kakhovka dam flooding has created a pressing need for aid in the region as it relates to safe evacuation, flood management, and assistance with mine location assessments as flooding has caused the displacement of land mines.

The team has been working with organizations in Ukraine to integrate technological innovations and solutions to support and enhance humanitarian efforts.
