Liberty Defense (TSXV:SCAN) has received a purchase order for multiple HEXWAVE systems from Elkhart County, Indiana.
HEXWAVE is the world’s first threat detection platform that detects metallic and non-metallic threats, including 3D printed ghost guns and liquid, powder or plastic explosives, while allowing people to continuously flow through the system. All without the need to divest benign items such as keys, wallets or mobile phones.
The imaging can capture higher resolution millimetre wave image data, combined with advanced AI detection algorithms to now exceed 100 terabytes, which is used to train the algorithms for the optimal detection of metallic and non-metallic threats.
Elkhart County will deploy the HEXWAVE walkthrough system at multiple entrances to a new courthouse opening in 2024. The courthouse may use HEXWAVE in 2023 in its existing location.
Elkhart County receives around 1,200 people a day, and its security protocol currently includes full divesting before walking through a metal detector and placing bags on X-ray machines.
Liberty Defense’s CEO, Bill Frain, said in a news release the state of Indiana is issuing a mandate that facilities need to have a security plan in place by next year that includes the detection of a broader range of prohibited items.
“We are certainly seeing greater demand for HEXWAVE’s seamless people screening detection at courthouses and other critical infrastructure checkpoints,” Frain said.
Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd. provides multi-technology security solutions for concealed weapons detection in high-volume foot traffic areas and locations requiring enhanced security, such as airports, stadiums, schools and more. Liberty Defense’s HEXWAVE product provides discrete, modular and scalable protection to provide layered, stand-off detection capability of metallic and non-metallic weapons.
Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd. opened trading at $0.22 per share.
