Nuvei (TSX:NVEI) has been selected by a mobility solutions provider to be its payments provider for payouts to its drivers in Latin America.

The Canadian fintech company is enabling inDrive to offer its range of payout options, including payments to cards and all relevant alternative payment methods, to its customers in 614 cities across 47 countries.

inDrive was the second most downloaded ride-hailing app worldwide based on Google Play and App Store data in 2022.

Nuvei’s CEO and chairman, Philip Fayer, said in a news release the Latin American market faces unique payment challenges, including lower card acceptance rates and a significant unbanked population that relies on alternative payment methods, so partnering with inDrive would elevate the payment experience for rideshare drivers in the region.

“By combining inDrive’s local expertise with Nuvei’s payments technology, we’re bringing inDrive closer to its drivers through payments,” Fayer said.

Nuvei is a Canadian fintech company whose technology allows companies to accept next-gen payments, offer all payout options and benefit from card issuing, banking, risk and fraud management services. Nuvei connects businesses to their customers in more than 200 markets, with local acquiring in 45-plus markets, 150 currencies and more than 600 alternative payment methods. The company also recently announced it is partnering with Resorts Digital Gaming to enable the iGaming operator to offer Nuvei Instant Bank Transfer to online casino players across all of its brands. The company received a boost in April when Canadian actor and entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds announced he was investing in the fintech company.

Nuvei Corp. (NVEI) opened trading at C$38.75 per share and has risen 12.9 per cent year to date.
