Else Nutrition (TSX:BABY) has announced its Kids Nutritional Shakes have been approved by the Arizona Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
The Vancouver-based food and nutrition company said the authorization comes after having four of its products eligible for approval for U.S. federal insurance billing.
“Having our products approved by the Arizona WIC program and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services are significant steps in our strategic plan to enhance accessibility. These achievements are a testament to our team’s dedication and strong management,” Hamutal Yitzhak, CEO and co-founder of Else Nutrition, said in a statement.
Children with certain qualifying medical conditions and a prescription from a physician can now access Else Kids’ plant-based products indented for dietary issues. These include severe food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, immune system disorders and medically diagnosed nutrient deficiencies.
The Else Plant-Based Nutritional Shakes for Kids are made with whole-plant products such as buckwheat, almond butter and tapioca.
The shakes are also available in chocolate and vanilla flavours.
Shares of Else Nutrition are unchanged at C$0.69.
