Arbor Metals (TSXV:ABR) has deployed its exploration team to its flagship Jarnet lithium project in Quebec after wildfire-based closures.
The multi-day exploration program will include mapping, prospecting and drilling of potential targets. A qualified Quebec geologist will provide guidance through the process and prepare an assessment report.
The program is highlighted by the inclusion of a laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) laser spectrometer, which will “play a pivotal role in expediting the assessment of whether lithium-bearing minerals exist within Jarnet‘s pegmatite dykes,” according to a statement released Monday.
The LIBS laser spectrometer can identify and assess lithium-containing minerals such as spodumene by transforming a sample into a plasma state, enabling optical analysis across various wavelengths, including visible light, ultraviolet and infrared spectrums.
The technology has produced successful results in lithium-rich regions worldwide, including the Corvette Lake camp, where leading operators such as MAX Power (CSE:MAXX) and Patriot Battery Metals (TSXV:PMET) are actively exploring. Jarnet resides near Patriot’s Corvette-FCI property, one of the most promising lithium projects in the world.
Mark Ferguson, president and CEO of Arbor Metals, expressed “gratitude to the firefighters and other dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly to combat the wildfires,” while commending his team’s “proactive approach in revising the exploration plan to ensure successful completion, despite the delays caused by the wildfires that swept through Quebec over the summer.”
The return to the field follows news of Arbor’s engagement efforts in support of the EV industry and its associated miners.
Arbor Metals is a mining company focused on developing high-value mineral projects worldwide. The company recently improved lithium prospectivity at its Jarnet project through spectral analysis, which resulted in the identification of lithological units indicative of lithium potential. Arbor also operates the Miller’s Crossing lithium project in Nevada, which is adjacent to and geologically similar to Clayton Valley, the only lithium-producing brine operation in North America.
Arbor Metals stock (TSXV:ABR) opened unchanged trading at $2.90 per share. The stock is up by 7,150 per cent over the past five years.
