Gold penny stock Ascot Resources (TSX:AOT) is announcing record results with its third batch of assays from 2023 exploration drilling at its Premier gold project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle.

The highlight result yielded 98.84 g/t gold over 6.48 metres from a depth of 51.5 m in hole P23-2490, including 691.5 g/t gold over 0.90 m, representing the second all-time highest-grade drill intercept at the Big Missouri deposit and Ascot Resources’ highest-grade drill intercept since 2015.

“With underground mine development at Big Missouri having started last year, this is an opportune time to have intercepted some of the highest-grade gold mineralization in Ascot’s history,” Derek White, Ascot’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “In particular, the 692 gram-per-tonne intercept from hole P23-2490 is located in an area currently scheduled to be mined next year, and as such we are eager to exploit this material early in the mine life. Our surface drill program was recently completed, and we look forward to releasing assay results over the next several months.”

Today’s value-added assays coincide with rapidly progressing construction at the Premier gold project backed by a C$200 million financing package.

Big Missouri drill results

Results in this release include surface drilling focused on in-fill and exploration at the Big Missouri deposit, approximately 6 kilometres north of the Premier mill, with numerous pending assays. Underground mine development at Big Missouri began in 2022, with crews currently mining and stockpiling mineralized material as development advances.

Ascot drilled 72 holes from early August until this past week covering a total of 6,539 m. The first 17 holes included below cover 1,246 m targeting prospective stope shapes for additional pierce points, gaps between stopes because of previous drill patterns, and extensions along strike and up dip.
