Great Atlantic Resources (TSXV:GR) has completed its 2023 exploration program at the Keymet precious metal and base metal property in New Brunswick.

The Vancouver-based company said in a statement the program included prospecting and rock-soil geochemical sampling, conducted in the northwest and west-central regions of the property.

Notably, work in the west-central region focused on a new target area previously identified during the 2021-2022 explorations season. The 2023 work done in the west-central region was completed west of an area of gold soil anomalies and glacial float and outcrop with anomalous levels of gold discovered in 2021 and 2022.

In total, 12 samples were collected in 2023 from outcrop and glacially transported float to test for gold mineralization. Samples will be submitted before the end of the year for gold and multi-element analysis.

The company’s 2021 and 2022 programs defined a zone of gold soil anomalies of the property’s west-central region approximately 200×200-500 metres. Out of 44 samples, 39 returned anomalous values of 5-67 parts per billion gold.

In 2023, 13 rock samples were collected in this region to test for precious metal and base metal mineralization northwest of the Keymet mine.

The Keymet property covers an area of approximately 3,340 hectares and is 100 per cent owned by Great Atlantic Resources.

Great Atlantic Resources is focused on discovering and developing mineral assets in Atlantic Canada, including gold, copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt, antimony and tungsten.

Shares of Great Atlantic Resources are unchanged at C$0.05.
