Sitka Gold (CSE:SIG) has reported results from its 2023 drill program at the Alpha Gold Property in Nevada.

The Vancouver-based company said in a statement that a total of 1,027.3 metres were drilled across four holes.

Each hole encountered significant intercepts of strong alteration and mineralization that are consistent with known Carlin-type deposits.

According to Sitka Gold, the drill program aimed to test the inferred hingeline target zone in the Alpha NW area and also test for higher grades where previous drilling showed gold mineralization was open and strengthening.

Additionally, all holes were drilled from existing permitted drill sites and intercepted stronger alteration and pyrite mineralization than holes being offset.

“These drill holes have substantially increased our confidence in the current geologic model that suggests the targeted hingeline zone is the most probable location to host peak gold grades within this system,” Cor Coe, director and CEO of Sitka, said in a news release.

The Alpha Gold Property sits roughly 40 kilometres southeast of the Nevada Gold Mines Complex, which includes the Pipeline, Cortez Hills and Gold Rush mines.

The company owns 100 per cent interest in the property, which comprises one contiguous claim block totaling 239 lode claims spanning 4,780 acres.

In total, 5,006 metres of drilling in 16 holes have been completed since Sitka Gold acquired the property.

Sitka Gold is a mineral exploration company, which has a wide range of projects under its belt including RC Gold, Alpha Gold, Coppermine River, Burro Creek and OGI.

Shares of Sitka Gold are unchanged at C$0.22.
