Spectra7 Microsystems (TSXV:SEV) and Keysight have achieved robust performance testing of their 800Gbps product offerings, which will be presented at the DesignCon Conference Exhibigtion in Santa Clara, California, between Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

Through the testing, the company stated in a news release that its ACCs were successfully interoperated with Keysight’s AresONE-M-800GE QSFP-DD800 Layer 1-3 Test System at the 800Gbps speed.

“Keysight is a technology and market leader in the Ethernet test equipment market,” Spectra7 CEO Raouf Halim said in a statement. “Their validation of robust performance of our GaugeChanger technology in 800Gbps interconnects is a significant milestone in the coming volume deployment of our data centre product line.”

The company’s GaugeChanger GC1122 chips are used in ACCs and provide a reduction in cost, size and energy consumption when compared with competing active electric cables and active optical cables that use digital signal processing technologies.

Notably, the testing also indicated link training produced a low bit error rate (BER) of 3.3e-0, which shows a wide margin over standard required low bit error rate.

With its headquarters out of San Jose, California, Spectra7 Microsystems provides a range of high-performance analog semiconductor products for broadband connectivity markets.

Shares of Spectra7 Microsytems are up 20 per cent to C$0.48 as of 10:28 am ET.
