Critical Elements Lithium (TSXV:CRE) has revealed results from a drilling program from its Rose West Discovery in Quebec.
In a news release, the Montreal-based company stated a 31-hole, 3,670-metre drill program was completed during the 2024 winter drilling campaign.
Notably, results demonstrated the continuity of a mineralized pegmatite body over a 450-metre strike, 370 metres down dip and to a vertical depth of 140 metres.
“Drill confirmation of high-grade lithium mineralization at Rose West is the beginning of an important new chapter for Critical Elements,” Jean-Sebastien Lavallee, CEO of Critical Elements Lithium, said in a statement. “Additional drilling on multiple promising targets identified on Critical Elements’ large, prospective land position could also yield economically valuable mineralization later this year. “
Drilling results from the program demonstrated:
- the continuity of a mineralized pegmatite body over 450-metre strike, 370 metres down dip and to a vertical depth of 140 metres
- In the west, the body is composed of multiple near-surface mineralized pegmatites that range up to an apparent thickness of 12.4 metres each
- These bodies appear to coalesce into a more substantial spodumene-bearing pegmatite in the east with an apparent width of up to 40.4 metres
Meanwhile, initial assay results from the drill program have been received for the first two holes, RD-24-01 and RD-24-02, each returning high grades with 1.61 per cent lithium oxide and 135 ppm tantalum pentoxide over 6.9 metres, including 2.17 per cent lithium oxide over 4.3 metres in hole RD-24-01.
Hole RD-24-02 returned results of 1 per cent lithium oxide and 285 ppm tantalum pentoxide over 8.65 metres, including 1.35 per cent lithium and 376 ppm tantalum pentoxide over 4.4 metres.
The program also discovered a different style of mineralization associated with an aplite dyke with high-grade tantalum values, including 571 ppm tantalum pentoxide over 11 metres.
Critical Elements Lithium is focused on the acquisition, exploration, development and processing of critical minerals mining properties in Canada. Its projects include Rose Lithium-Tantalum, Rose North, Rose South, Arques, Bourier, Dumulon, Duval, Nisk, Lemare, Caumont and Valiquette.
Shares of Critical Elements Lithium are up 3.23 per cent to C$0.64 as of 10:25 am ET.
