  • MAX Power Mining (CSE:MAXX) has received drilling permits from the Bureau of Land Management for its Willcox Playa Lithium Project in Arizona to begin phase 2 drilling
  • The company recently completed a Phase 1, five-hole program consisting of 6,062 feet
  • The first five holes have indicated Willcox Playa to be highly prospective for a large near-surface lithium claystone deposit
  • Shares of Max Power are unchanged C$0.23

MAX Power (CSE:MAXX) has revealed that it has received drilling permits from the Bureau of Land Management for its Willcox Playa Lithium Project in Arizona to begin phase 2 drilling.

The permit comes after the company’s recently completed Phase 1, five-hole program that consisted of 6,062 feet.

According to a news release, the first five holes drilled indicated the project to be highly prospective for a large near-surface lithium claystone deposit.

“The first five diamond drill holes at Willcox have supported initial theories regarding prospectivity of intense resistivity and gravimetric low anomalies at the Playa,” Peter Lauder, senior geologist and exploration manager for MAX Power, said in a statement. “The southern block on BLM ground features the largest and most extreme anomalies on MAX Power’s property. This bodes very well for extending the discovery of clay-rich sediments with high lithium values. We’re very pleased to receive these drill permits.”

Prior to completing phase 1 drilling at Willcox, MAX Power Mining revealed in January that it had extended the strike length of the Willcox Lithium Playa Project to three miles.

Notably, diamond drill hole WP-23-04 encountered a predominant lithium claystone sequence and six fluid sequences from the top of the hole to the base of the hole where it ended at 1,200 feet in a fluid sequence.

“This big step-out to the south and the first four drill holes in general underscore the potential scale of the Willcox lithium system which is being diamond drilled for the first time,” Lauder said in a statement.

With headquarters in Vancouver, MAX Power Mining is an exploration stage resource company targeting domestic lithium resources.

Shares of MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE:MAXX) are unchanged C$0.23.
