CMC Metals (TSXV:CMB) has revealed its plans to initiate studies examining the viability of using dense media separation or ore sorting technologies at its Silver Hart Project in the Yukon.
In a news release, the company stated that the dense media separation (DMS) technology enables the separation of minerals based on their specific gravity and also contributes to a more sustainable mining industry.
“Our company remains committed to examining all options to establish operations at the Silver Hart Project,” John Bossio, chairman of CMC Metals, said in a news release. “We also look forward to initiating discussions with First Nations regarding this project concept to examine partnership opportunities.”
The Silver Hart Project is CMC Metals flagship property, which includes 116 claims across 2,017 hectares.
Since the early 1980s, more than 170 drill holes have been drilled in the Main Zone and has included polymetallic veins containing galena, tetrahedrite and sphalerite. An NI-43-101 completed in 2010 estimated inferred resource of 69,500 tons grading 555.66 grams per ton (/gt) silver, 1.89 per cent lead and 9.12 per cent zinc (using a 600 g/t silver cutoff with 1,240,000 contained ounces of silver).
With its headquarters out of Vancouver, CMC Metals is a growth-stage exploration company focused on opportunities for high-grade polymetallic deposits in Yukon, British Columbia and Newfoundland.
Shares of CMC Metals (TSXV:CMB) are down 14.29 per cent to C$0.030 as of 9:52 am ET.
